Competition for junior sociologists

The International Sociological Association (ISA) has announced the Fifth Worldwide Competition for junior sociologists. The winners are then invited to participate in the  XVII World Congress of Sociology which will take place in Göteborg, Sweden, July 2010,  as well as a four day pre-conference seminar.

THE NORDIC SOCIOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION ANNOUNCES
ITS OWN COMPETITION FOR JUNIOR SOCIOLOGISTS
 
By junior sociologists we mean doctoral students in sociology at a Nordic university or college, or a doctoral student  who is conducting research in one or more of the Nordic countries.

Candidates must send an original (not previously published) paper no later than November 1  2009, to our international journal Acta Sociologica.  The authors should send their submissions as an electronic file in Word format to acta@sociology.gu.se, together with two paper copies to Editorial Office, Acta Sociologica, Department of Sociology, University of Gothenburg, Box 720, SE 405 30 Gothenburg, Sweden.  Indicate “junior competition” in your message and on the envelope. The submitted manuscript must follow the author guidelines which can be found on the journal’s website http://www.actasociologica.com or on the back-cover of the journal.

Up to four candidates will be chosen and invited, all expenses paid, to participate in the World Congress and the four day pre-conference seminar. Their winning submission will be published in a special issue of Acta Sociologica.
